A Decade of Determined Impact

From a single classroom visit to a multi-state movement — our history is one of relentless dedication to children who deserve better.

2012

Where It All Began

A small team of passionate volunteers entered the Makoko waterfront community in Lagos and discovered hundreds of children who had never set foot in a classroom. That first community visit sparked a movement that would grow beyond anyone's imagination.

2014

First Scholarship Program Launched

We launched our inaugural scholarship program, placing 60 children from informal settlements into accredited schools. The success of this pilot convinced us we could scale the model across the country.

2016

National Recognition & Expansion

Slum2School received national recognition from the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Education and expanded operations to six additional states. Our volunteer base grew from 80 to over 600 dedicated changemakers.

2018

Youth Empowerment Centre Opens

We inaugurated our first Youth Empowerment and Digital Skills Centre in Abuja, offering vocational training and entrepreneurship programs to young people aged 15–25 from marginalized communities.

2020

Pandemic Response & E-Learning

When COVID-19 threatened to widen educational inequality, we rapidly deployed tablets, data bundles, and e-learning content to over 5,000 children in our network — ensuring learning never stopped despite school closures.

2024

25,000 Children Reached

We reached our 25,000-beneficiary milestone, now operating across 14 African states with programs in education, wellbeing, youth empowerment, and technology. Our movement continues to grow — stronger and more determined than ever.
